Why it exists
Night cab booking for women in India is a coin toss: you press a button and a stranger you know nothing about accepts, or nobody accepts at all, or the driver cancels because the drop is far. You learn who is driving you seconds before he arrives, you cannot verify anything about him, and nobody at home knows who you got into a car with. The current workaround is a WhatsApp group of 'known' drivers, a phone call to a local women's cab number, or asking a male colleague to escort you.
Who it is for
Rido's core buyer is a woman aged 20–40 living in an Indian metro who regularly travels after 9 PM — a night-shift IT or BPO employee, a hospital or hotel staff member, a college student returning late from campus, or a woman navigating late airport arrivals. She has been burned by anonymous Ola/Uber assignments at night, driver cancellations, or the terror of not being able to tell anyone who picked her up. On the supply side, the platform recruits verified women drivers — ex-Ola/Uber women drivers, self-employed cab owners, and women from women-only fleet operators — who want committed, pre-agreed night fares rather than the lottery of real-time dispatch.

What makes it different
Uber and Ola optimise for instant matching, which is exactly what fails at 11pm and exactly what makes the driver anonymous. Rido inverts it: rides are booked in advance against night slots that a specific verified woman driver has already committed to, her file (government ID, driving licence, vehicle registration, all reviewed by the Rido team) is visible before payment, the fare is fixed before you pay so there is no cancellation-for-a-better-trip, and the moment you pay, your trusted contact gets a ride card with her photo, name and plate plus an automatic alert if you never mark yourself home safe. We do not pretend to have a live map. We replace the map with a commitment, a named human and a watcher.
